Triangle Greyhound Society(TGS) is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of retired racing greyhounds.

We educate the public on the advantages of greyhounds as pets.
We provide information about greyhound adoption.
We provide assistance to new greyhound families.
We rescue homeless or abandoned greyhounds.
We provide homes for greyhounds needing a different living situation.
We provide funds to help cover costs associated with greyhound rescue, including urgent medical care.
We consider other activities that could improve retired greyhounds’ lives.

Greyhounds and Racing... With dogs running at speeds up to 41 mph, a greyhound race is over almost as quickly as it begins. Greyhound racing is a highly competitive sport - a fraction of a second separates the winners from the rest of the pack. When their racing career is over these good natured and gentle dogs need loving homes. Approximately 25,000 racing greyhounds are retired every year and all of them deserve loving homes. While adoptions have grown dramatically in the last decade---approximately 90% are adopted---there are
still some greyhounds that don't find homes. Our goal, along with like-minded organizations, is to ensure that every greyhound gets that chance. If you are considering adding a pet to your family, consider adopting a retired racing greyhound.
