(“GIG”) is the annual fund raiser for Triangle Greyhound Society.  It is the means by which we raise the funds that we use to support greyhound adoption.  We offer financial grants to North Carolina adoption kennels and fund our foster program.  It is the most important event on our calendar.  A small group of dedicated TGS folks work throughout the year to plan and implement this three day event.  GIG draws attendees and their hounds from all across the country and Canada.  In 2011, we had attendees from the great state of Alaska.  The beautiful and historic town of Gettysburg Pennsylvania has opened its doors and decks to us.  The hotels and merchants are hound friendly and they really look forward to hosting us each year.

Come for Friendship:
Make new friends, renew old acquaintances and put faces to all those names on Greyhound-L and Greytalk.  We have made some wonderful friends from across the country that we look forward to seeing again each year.  There are picnics and socials throughout the weekend, all of which are hound friendly.

Come for Shopping:
For everything greyhound you can imagine.  There are approximately forty vendors.  You can find a whole range of hound and human gifts for yourself and the ones you love.

Come for Learning:
We have seminars on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.  You will have ample opportunity to improve your understanding of greyhounds.  Topics range from health issues to adoption, training and animal communication.

Mark your calendars for the last full weekend in April.  GIG kicks off on Friday and closes on Sunday afternoon.  Don’t go one more year without treating yourself and your fur family to this greyt event!  The bonus is, you will be supporting greyhound adoption while having a hound of a time.  Now that’s what we call a real deal!
