With dogs running at speeds up to 41 mph, a greyhound race is over almost as quickly as it begins. Greyhound racing is a highly competitive sport – a fraction of a second separates the winners from the rest of the pack.
When their racing career is over these good natured and gentle dogs need loving homes. Approximately 25,000 racing greyhounds are retired every year and all of them deserve loving homes. While adoptions have grown dramatically in the last decade, there are still many greyhounds that don’t find homes. Our goal, along with like-minded organizations, is to ensure that every greyhound gets that chance.
If you are considering adding a pet to your family, consider adopting a retired racing greyhound. The documents posted on TGS Publications provide more facts about Greyhounds. You may also refer to our Resources page for external links with a wealth of information.
