There are several ways that you can support Triangle Greyhound Society.
Donate:
You make monetary donations by using several methods. You can use the convenience of PayPal or by mailing us a check. Please follow the Donations link above.
Become a Member:
One of the best (and most fun) ways to support TGS is to become a member. This is a great opportunity to socialize with your hound. We offer many opportunities for attending Meet and Greets, parades, picnics, and other community events. It’s fun for both you and your fur kids. When we have a large group at an event, we make a better impact for greyhound adoption and awareness.
Volunteer:
We are always looking for help with our events. Volunteering is a great way to get involved. We don’t have a kennel, but we have many opportunities for you help.
- You can help with our Meet and Greets. Attending the Meet and Greet is great, but, we need people to set up and break down our literature, banners and water bowls at the M&G locations. Volunteers can also be helpful when we set up our tent and other meet and greet material at the various community events that we attend.
- Participating in the parades is a lot of fun but we also could use assistance with some of the logistics as well. We need folks to decorate and pull our float (an 18 foot flatbed trailer) for the Christmas parades. We like to have banner carriers for the St. Patrick’s Day parade since we don’t use a float.
- We also need help setting up for our picnics in the fall and spring, especially when we offer the speed run.
- The greatest and most important need for volunteers when we have our annual fundraiser, Greyhounds In Gettysburg, in April of each year. If you are thinking that it sounds like we need a few good roadies, then yes, you are correct! The more the merrier. Please visit our link for this event for more detail on GIG.
Foster:
We often need assistance with foster homes. Experienced foster families are vital to our foster program. If you are an experienced greyhound parent with the right home environment AND have the time to attend meet and greets with your foster hound, we would be interested in talking with you.
